Dr. Tom Price served as the 23rd U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services under President Donald Trump, where he played a pivotal role in shaping national health policies. Prior to his role in the Cabinet, he represented Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for over a decade. During his time in Congress, Dr. Price was a leading voice on healthcare reform and improving public health, serving as Chairman of the House Budget Committee and advancing policies aimed at improving patient care, increasing treatment access and reducing patient costs.

 

Before entering public service, Dr. Price spent more than 20 years as an orthopedic surgeon, caring for patients and gaining firsthand experience in the challenges facing our healthcare system. His unique combination of medical expertise and policy making has given him a deep understanding of how health policies affect both individuals and broader public health outcomes.

 

Today, Dr. Price continues to advocate for innovative solutions to improve health and reduce costs, including the role of harm reduction strategies in addressing smoking rates and their effects on public health.
