Dr. Bob Underly

Master Scientist - Consumer Use and Behavior

Robert Underly has been at Reynolds American for nearly 7 years. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Saginaw Valley State University and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Medical University of South Carolina. His early research career focused on cellular deficits associated with Traumatic Brain Injury and vascular pathology associated with Alzheimer’s Disease before moving into live animal deep brain imaging of stroke and vascular pathology.

Since joining RAISC Dr. Underly has worked in the Clinical Studies group, Analytical Support team, Submissions team and is currently a Master Scientist in the Population Health and Consumer Behavior Team. Most of his career has focused on the development of novel technologies to passively collect product use as well as software systems to streamline research efforts. As part of this work, he has also worked on the design and execution of Actual Use Studies and Randomized Control Trials.
